In celebration of our 50th episode, we bring you our longest, most detailed episode yet on one of the most mysterious incidents in history. In January of 1959, 9 hikers mysteriously perished on the frigid slopes of Ural Mountains in Russia. To this day, no one knows what killed them. In part 2, we discuss the the theories put forth over the years as to what happened to the hikers.
Warning: This episode contains detailed discussions of autopsies.
This week on Necromancy Radio we chatted with Sweeney Deville, the guitarist from the band The Killbrides. Based in Birmingham, England, The Killbrides have been working together since their first experimental release early 2016, Traditional Ash. They met via Facebook, as Sweeney and Jamie had both been in different projects, Sweeney from The Acid Ballet and Jamie being influenced by emo punk sounds of the early 2000’s. Their interests are a combination of The Cure and Sisters of Mercy with a lot of screamo in there as well. It’s a bizarre combination, however their signature sound is unique. Expect pockets of darkness combined with a softness every now and then to relieve the hardcore sounds they create. You can follow them and Sweeney in links below.

Rose Sinister:Vampires concludes its first season with the second half of the Dracula season finale two-parter. In this episode, the historical Vlad Dracula is examined, both as a source of inspiration for Bram Stoker, but also for the filmmakers creating Dracula adaptations across the 20th century and into the 21st. What role does religion play in understanding the life and legacy of Dracula, both historic and fictional? And what does the ebb and flow of religiosity in cinematic Dracula entries communicate about larger cultural patterns across that period of time?
Good bye, 2018. It's been all over the place, and we have a lot of music releases to talk about.

Part 1 of the season 1 finale of Rose Sinister: Vampires, this extra-long episode takes some time to point out things you may have missed about Bram Stoker's famous novel, by framing both the creator and his creation in the context of some of the political, artistic, and moral attitudes and aspirations of the late 19th century. Hint: it's about way more than the naughty stuff.
Mistress McCutchan flies solo to bring new tunes to you as well as share a stupid story with The Wasteland. Sometimes she's just a silly drunk. Lesson to be learned - you don't have to drink everything when you're having a rough time.
Thanks to Justin Minister for the intro music as well as production/editing. Many thanks to Batty for being a great friend.

Nearing the end of the first season of Rose Sinister: Vampires, episode 8 examines the impact of faith and culture on the creative process, representation versus appropriation, and the overall impact Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga has had on vampire stories.
On this episode, we bring together our funny little DJ collective and talk music while being very silly (and a little drunk) with our guests The Wasteland and Vernal Trash.
Archaeologists have found many unusual graves throughout Eastern Europe, graves in which stakes have been driven through the deceased's body. These burials, and the historical documents from the time, suggest that these individuals were suspected of being vampires by those that buried them. They are known as Vampire Burials, and in this episode, we explore exactly what was at stake.

We have a special episode for you this week, we are back with a full panel to discuss one of the most contentious topics related to goth. In a climate where it is becoming increasingly difficult to talk to those who don’t share our views, what role does goth play? Transgressive and activist counterculture, or impartial music tribe? Does denying the political roots and inclinations of goth culture lend itself to infiltration by racist and sexist ideologies?
Our panel this month consists of Abigail, Dani, Nephilim, Trae, and Zakkarri

I’ve avoided dividing the episode into timestamped sections, as the the conversation is loosely structured, each portion of the episode continuously builds upon the previous on, and they are wide ranging in and of themselves. As always thank you for listening and supporting the show by telling your friends about us or jumping on patreon!

The latest installment of Rose Sinister: Vampires is a deeply personal reflection on a vampire story that had a huge impact on my life- and why sometimes, revisiting the magic of our youth can challenge us to re-examine the stories that shape us. One of the best, and most disturbing, vampire novels ever written, Poppy Z. Brite's shocking 1992 novel, Lost Souls has had a huge impact on the lives of many of its readers. It's not a novel for the faint of heart, and while this episode isn't explicit, it does come with a content warning for disturbing subject matter and, of course, spoilers. I'm particularly interested to know what your thoughts on this novel are, if you read it when you were young, and if you've re-read it as an adult.
This week, we review the overplayed tracks that could be "retired" and suggest some new choices from Traitrs, Encephalon, Bellwether Syndicate, and Indarra.

Rumors of an experiment that resulted in the invisibility and teleportation of a ship began in 1955 thanks to a set of letters sent by a man named Carlos M. Allende. These letters sparked a conspiracy theory that still exists today. Is there any truth to it? In this episode we dig deep into the mystery of Philadelphia Experiment.

In 1764, a strange creature began killing people in an isolated region of France known as the Gevaudan. No one could say what it was, so the creature was known only as La Bête, the Beast of Gevaudan, and it seemed unstoppable.

The Sixth installment of season 1 of Rose Sinister: Vampires tackles the 1936 Universal Pictures film, "Dracula's Daughter." Produced as a point in cinema history when expression to a back seat to moralizing lip service, a film that was shockingly bold for its era comes across as tame and problematic by modern standards. But the themes of Dracula's Daughter would do more to establish the tropes of the modern sympathetic vampire narrative than dear old dad ever did.

In the 1800s, there was a surge in the creation of leather objects made from human skin. None of the people making the objects were considered criminals or even particularly disturbed. In this episode we discuss some of these objects, how they were made, and why.
