We are interviewing Emma tonight about socio-aesthetic experiences of culture, cultural history, viewing goth as a culture rather than subculture, and the sociology of design; specifically how that translates into communities of belonging especially among goths. Emma is now undertaking a PhD as a participant researcher. She recently conducted the largest ever survey about goth, among participants of the culture for that very project, which is titled Just a Phase? Goth subculture as an identity constant beyond youth.
On this installment of Gothropology, Griffin Ced and your haunted host Brit-El discuss Ostara and the spring equinox: the finding of inner peace and stability whilst weathering the turmoil of others, and harnessing the creative forces in the season of change. The revealing nature of the season's light, the potential of spring as the transgender-oriented, gender-negatory festival of the Wheel, the strength of the tide... join in on the conversation on stirring energy and awakening light. Griffin and Brit-El also discuss the need to drink directly from the Well of creation on our own rather than glorifying actions in the past, of giving honor to the Hero rather than celebrating the Victim, and another way to celebrate easter: Odin!
What are the right questions that open the most interesting doors? Tune in for insight on the tides that rush to push the awakening of spirit, and follow The Green Man's events on their calendar and Facebook.

Gothropology is the show that discusses ancient traditions, spirituality, sexuality and regeneration- the guide to come and take you by the hand into unknown pleasures. On the second installment of Wheel of the Year with Griffin Ced, Brit-El and Griffin discuss the pagan high day Imbolc, and the traditions surrounding the return of spring. From the randy Roman origins of Valentine’s Day in Lupercalia to the stirring of returning earthly life force that is Imbolc, tune in for detailed discussion on the true reason for the season. The dark, contemplative “dying times” pass into light with clearing of the mind, surroundings and spirit– “spring cleaning” leading to the strength of will, allowing the primal force and strength of will to go forth and conquer. Griffin discusses further the inspiration that makes individual rites distinct year-by-year, and gives personal insight on his upbringing and experience as a community teacher today.
As the wheel turns, tune in!
